With the approaching of WW2, the show becomes a refuge for cadets and battle-worn Londoners. Jackie Chan’s Who Am I: Chan is part of a secret armed forces team sent on a lethal mission. He loses his memory, and can’t figure out why people are after him. Inferno: American returns to N.Y. from school in Rome to examine the hideous death of his sibling, and finds “sinister moms” wreaking paranormal chaos on both sides of Atlantic. Surreal, spellbinding shocker by Italian terror maestro Argento doesn’t make much sense, but it has a lot of style. Cast includes Leigh McCloskey, Irene Marvel, Sacha Pitoeff, Daria Nicolodi, Eleonora Giorgi, Veronica Lazar, and Alida Valli. (107 minutes, 1984)

Navy Seals: Navy Seals go into the Mid-East to rescue captured US pilots. During this successful rescue, the Seals observe that the enemy terrorist have Stinger missiles in their possession. With no time to destroy the missiles, they leave them behind and complete the rescue mission. We need to recover these weapons before terrorists have the chance to use them.

Genealogies of a Crime: Deneuve is beaming in a twin role as the attorney for, and victim of, a strange youthful gentleman who’s implicated of killing his psychiatrist mother’s sibling after she supposedly subjected him to drastic mind-control therapy. Well-performed although conceited, deliberately perplexing blend of puzzle, satire, and surrealism; hoaxed up with pointless flashbacks within flashbacks and other narrative and graphic gimmicks. Cast includes Catherine Deneuve, Michel Piccoli, Melvil Poupaud, Andrzej Seweryn, and Bernadette LaFont. (114 minutes, 1997)

Pulp Fiction: This is Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece work. The story weaves around four separate, yet intertwined events. There was an accidental killing, the crime bosses wife’s overdose, the boxer who didn’t throw the fight, and pair of small time crooks trying to rob a restaurant.
