A Day in the Life of an Affiliate Marketer
With the advent of the internet, affiliate marketing has become a fast and efficient way of doing business. In the old days everything was done by telephone, now you just have to hit a few keys on your computer.
So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this
The first thing that I do each day is to check in to see if and how many sales I have made since yesterday. After all, this is why I am in the business so it makes sense to check this first.
The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliates conversion rates.
When I have done that, and have had a cup of coffee, I will then submit my program to a few directories that accept affiliate programs. There are literally thousands of these directories, and I just gradually work through two or three each day.
Then I turn my attention to see how many sales my affiliates have made. I love this, as without any effort at all on my part, some sales come through. Somebody else has done the hard work for me.
But I don’t just sit back and leave it at that. I have to keep on putting myself in front of potential customers, and this may mean considering new ads, thinking about banner ads, and maybe even ppc’s.
This sometimes means that you get a lot of questions from interested potential customers. It is easy to put those to one side, but if you do you may lose a sale. Deal with any questions straightaway.
Nobody likes to be kept waiting, and customers nowadays expect speedy and professional service, so give it to them.
Also, do make use of forums and chat rooms where you can interact with other marketeers, and learn new ideas for promoting your business.
Don’t be afraid to share whatever knowledge you might have with others. People will respect you for doing so, and might even join your program when they see how helpful you are.
The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketers publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.
These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.
When your reading is done, I think it would be a nice gesture to record a word of thanks to those who have helped you along the way.
Where would you record that? Well how about in a newsletter or ezine that you might periodically publish?
And following that how about posting a few comments on affiliate marketing to those sites where people hang out who are interested in getting into the business.
The advantage to you in this is that you can promote both the product, and the program.
Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time.
Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.
Is that success looming in the distance or what?
